About
I embarked on my professional journey in 1998 as a fresh-faced graduate with the Sequoia Partnership. It was more than just a job—it was a remarkable apprenticeship that provided invaluable insights into how supply chains should work.
My formative years at Sequoia helped me understand the challenges clients face and gave me the skills to build their capabilities to meet those challenges. As a self-proclaimed 'Numbers guy,' I find joy in delving deep into a client's data, constructing a data-driven evidence-base to support recommendations. Whether it's developing supply chain strategy or optimising inventory levels and batch sizes, the fundamentals of my analytical approach remain the same.
I've had the privilege of leading several fantastic projects, fostering strong working relationships with exceptional clients. I firmly believe that trust is the keystone of the client-consultant relationship and enables these relationships to thrive. It's about consistently delivering on promises, and I take pride in having earned repeat business from a loyal client base.
After an enriching 18-year journey with Sequoia, I embarked on an industry role, translating supply chain strategy from theory to reality. This phase saw me securing approval for the construction of 50,000 sqm of warehouse space across Europe, witnessing the logistics strategy evolve from a spreadsheet concept to tangible, constructed success.
After 3 years in industry, I established DLB Supply Chain Ltd and currently operate as a freelance supply chain consultant. As well as rekindling my ties with Sequoia, I've also enjoyed establishing new collaborations with other supply chain consultancies.
Whether you've landed here at the inception of our project or are considering engaging my services for an assignment, I look forward to building an effective partnership with you. Let's create success together.
If you’re here to check out CapacityPlannerProTM, here’s some background on why I developed it:
In the early 2000s, I had an opportunity to design, build and implement an online eMarket for a dotcom startup. Lacking any real coding experience (but armed with the optimism of youth) I dived in at the deep end and taught myself to code.
It was an intense period with a lot of late nights & weekend working, but I loved the problem-solving nature of coding and found immense satisfaction in transforming challenges into tangible, implementable solutions.
Fast forward 20 years (and many network optimisation projects later), CapacityPlannerProTM combines that formative coding experience with the supply chain expertise I’ve developed while defining the optimal supply chain footprint for multiple Blue-chip clients.
It’s the modelling tool I use when conducting network design projects and I’m proud of the fact that whenever the performance of CapacityPlannerProTM has been bench-marked, it performs as well (if not better) than more expensive alternatives.
